RSS Feeds

Now, stay informed of all updates on LimeExchange via RSS feeds. By using RSS feeds, you can track all new projects, service providers, contests, blogs, questions, answers, and other content updated on LimeExchange.

RSS (Really simple syndication) is a technology that gives you access to all LimeExchange content through your favorite feed reader. You can customize the feed reader, keep informed of the latest updates on LimeExchange even while working on some other website. To read the latest updates you just need to be online and not necessarily on LimeExchange. Feed reader will keep updating the feeds so that you do not miss anything important even while you are not logged in to LimeExchange.

Using RSS feeds involves a simple process. You are required to :
  1. Choose the category for which you want to import feeds.
  2. Set the time frequency for updation of the feeds. For example, if you select “Hourly” frequency, feed reader will update the feeds after every hour.
  3. Choose your favorite feed reader and sign up there. Alternatively, if you are already using any feed reader and want to continue with it, copy the RSS link from the URL box and add it to your existing feed reader.
Go to LimeExchange home page and click on “RSS” link shown at the top-most right hand side. The following page appears:

RSS Feeds

Choose the category for which you want to import feeds. At present, there are six main categories – general, LimeExchange news, contests, projects, providers, and questions and answers. Some of these categories have sub-categories as well. If you do not want to import feeds for an entire category then you can choose any sub-categories that interest you the most. Each sub-category has its own RSS feed.

Set the time frequency for updation of the feeds. For example, if you select “Hourly” frequency, feed reader will update the feeds after every hour.

Next, choose your favorite feed reader and click on it. You will be directed to the Sign Up page of the feed reader. Sign Up there to view the feeds as selected by you. If you are already signed in to that feed reader, the feeds will show up.

Alternatively, if you are already using a feed reader and you decide to continue using the same, you may not select any of the feed readers offered to you. In such a case, you are required to copy the RSS link from the URL box and add it to your existing feed reader. Feed readers have an option to add source link from where you want to import feeds. You should look out for options like Add Content, Add Subscription, Add RSS Feeds, etc., and add the link there.

Once you add the source link to your feed reader, you are ready to view the feeds as selected by you.
