Posting Your Project & Getting Started

Buyers can post a project by clicking on

Step 1: Select project Category and sub-category
Choosing the relevant category and sub-category is an important aspect while posting a project as service providers often search for projects posted under specific categories. The category should match the skill set requirements and not the industry or business type, for example if you are a multimedia professional and you need a multimedia website, please post the project in "Web Development" category and not in "Audio Video & Multimedia".

Step 2: Provide project details
It is important to provide details for the project to help the service providers better understand the requirements. At this step you need to provide the following details:
  • Title, Description and Skills: Buyers need to provide the project title, project description and required skills while posting a project. The content written in these fields would be used while performing project search and would assist the service providers understand the work and place their bids accordingly. We strongly recommend buyers to provide a detailed and elaborate project description. Please note that once the project is opened for bidding, the buyers would not be allowed to change any of these fields. However, the exchange provides the Public Message and Private Message Board feature to service providers to ask buyers about specific project details that have not been clarified.
  • Bidding End Date and Project End Date: Bidding end date is the date till which the project is open for bidding and shows up in the project search. The maximum duration for which the project is open for bid is 60 days. Project End date is the date by when the buyer expects the project to be completed. However, the actual project end date that is assigned to a project is the end date as provided in the finally selected bid.
  • Project Budget Range: This field can be used to provide an estimate of the amount that the buyer is planning to pay for the project. However, this range is not binding upon the service providers and the buyers can receive bids outside the specified budget range as well.
  • Bid Notification: This feature is provided to the buyers to get immediate/daily/weekly summary of the project bids.
  • Auction Type: Bids on the exchange are all 'Closed' (Service Providers cannot view other service provider's bids). Buyers can specify the auction type as public, private and premium.
    • Public: Public auction type projects are displayed in project search and all service providers can bid on these projects.
    • Private: Private auction type projects are not displayed in the project search and only service providers invited by the buyer can bid on these projects.
    • Premium: Premium auction type projects are displayed in project search and only premium service providers can bid on these projects.
Premium Postings appear highlighted when the service providers search for projects. Providers are most likely to view your posting as more serious than standard postings. Service providers will be charged to submit proposals on a Premium Posting. This is a good choice when you want fewer, higher-quality proposals from more established providers. Premium Postings will have an additional cost to post.
Proof of Concept (POC): POC is a test of service provider's skills, initiated at the buyer's behest. Buyers can get a sample work done from few service providers, review it, and then select the most suitable service provider for their project.

At the time of posting a project, buyer can select POC option and submit POC details. Selecting a POC option does not mean that buyer has to necessarily award POC.

Status Reports: Status reports help buyer in knowing the progress of the project. At the time of posting a project, buyer can mention the frequency of status reports that would be followed by the prospective service provider.

Step 3: Confirm project details and submit the project for LimeExchange verification
Once you have provided all the project details you need to submit the project to LimeExchange for verification. After verification, the project will be available for bidding to the service providers. A project verification duration is typically 4 hours and may take a maximum of 24 hours.

You can also upload attachments while posting a project.

You can also save the project as Draft, which can be edited later and submitted for verification.
