Online Technical Tests
Overview
Users can take online technical tests on LimeExchange to make their profile impressive and attractive. There are more than 100 tests to choose from.
We recommend that all service providers take tests related to their field of expertise, and also opt for some general skill tests (like those related to computer skills, English language, etc) to show their all-round skills.
Adding a Test
Sign In using your LimeExchange ID and password, and go to your profile page accessible at "My Account --> Profile" tab. On your Profile, click the “Add” button corresponding to the “Skillset” section in the “Overview” tab. The following page will appear:
Select the skill test using dropdown button. If there is no skill test available for any particular skill (just in case), you can mention that skill in the adjacent box. Next, using dropdown button, select the total experience that you have in the relevant field. You can self-rate your skill by clicking on the stars as far as you deem fit (more green stars show higher rating).
Self-rating for a skill will be displayed in “Skillset” section of your profile page. When you take test, your self-rating would be replaced by the certified rating based on your actual performance in the test.
Click on “Save” button to add the skill test to your profile. The skill test would be displayed in “Skillset” section in the “Overview” tab of your profile page.
Taking a Test
Click on “Take Test” link corresponding to the test that you have added to your skillset. You will be directed to payment page. Each Online Technical Test costs 4 USD.
You can make payment using a verified credit card. If you do not have a credit card verified from LimeExchange, click on “Verify Credit Card” link on the payment page. You can also visit our “General” help section and read help for Credit Card Verification to know more on this.
If you have a verified credit card, enter the valid details and click on “Make Payment”. After the payment is made, you will be shown the relevant test page along with Test Syllabus and other instructions. Click on “Start Now” button to begin the test or “Start Later” button if you want to take test later on as convenient to you.
Resuming a Test
If you get disconnected from the Internet while appearing for a test, you can still resume it within one hour. The procedure for restarting from where you left off is very simple. Log in again to your LimeExchange account and you will find an alert on your 'Home' page with a link to resume the test. Click the link to continue from where you left off. 'Home' page can be accessed from anywhere on the site by clicking the LimeExchange logo on the top-most left side.
Retaking a Test
If you feel like improving upon your score in any test, you can retake that test after 24 hours of the last attempt.
If you take a test more than once, your best score will be displayed. The procedure for retaking a test remains same as described in “Taking a Test” help section.
Managing Test Results
The test results are automatically reflected in your profile except when you have failed in a test. As buyers are always in search of talented service providers, you can boost your candidacy for a project by displaying the results where you have passed with high scores, and hiding the tests that do not have impressive scores.
You have an option to make your test results “Public” or “Private”. Selecting a Public option will make the results viewable by all. Selecting a Private option means that your results will be visible only to you. You can manage your tests by making them public or private, depending upon the score that you are able to achieve.
Go to “Overview” tab on your profile page. There is a link “View All Test Results” in the “Skillset” section of overview tab. Click on it to view all the tests taken by you. In the “Actions” column against every test, there will be “Make Private” or “Make Public” link. You can manage your test results by clicking on this link.
English Proficiency Test
We recommend that all users take this test. This test is Free for all users. Sign In using your LimeExchange ID and password, and click the “Profile” tab.
Click on "Take Test" link shown against “English Proficiency” in the rating section of your main profile page. Click on “Start Now” button to begin the test. On completion of the test, you will get to know your score. You can retake this test if you want to improve upon your score. You have three attempts to score maximum marks in this test. However, you can retake this test only after 4 hours of your last attempt. Your best score will be displayed on your LimeExchange profile.
Initially, your rating for this test will be NIL. LimeExchange recommends all its users to take this test, and get rated as per their best achieved score (in 3 attempts).
