Collaborate

LimeExchange provides various tools to enhance communication and project execution at different stages of the lifecycle. After awarding a project to a service provider, it will appear under different sections on the "Projects --> Manage Projects" tab. You have different features available, depending on the stage of project execution:
  • In Progress - Once you hire a service provider for a project, the project appears in the "In Progress" section.

Click on the project name to visit the project details page. You have two options to communicate with the Service Provider:

    • Message Board - Here you can discuss requirements, request status report, monitor progress, share files and provide feedback on the progress of the project. This is viewed by the buyer and service provider, eliminating miscommunication.

    • IM - The instant messaging (IM) feature allows you to communicate with the service provider in real time.

  • Pending Review - Once the provider has submitted a project milestone or deliverable, the project will appear in the "Pending Review" section. In addition to using message board and IM for communication, you have an option of accepting or rejecting the submission. The comments you provide while accepting or rejecting a project are visible below the project details page in the "Project Activity" section. If submission is rejected, the project goes back in the "In Progress" section.

  • Closed - After you have accepted the service provider's submission of the project, the project will appear in the "Closed" section. You can provide ratings for the service provider for up to two weeks after project acceptance.

Notifications

When you log in to LimeExchange, you will see updates and alerts on your "Home" page. Updates are informational and do not generally require an action. Alerts are notifications that do require an additional action, which you will see as a link next to each alert. You can access your "Home" page from anywhere on the site by clicking the LimeExchange logo on the top-most left side. LimeExchange also sends you an email for all Alerts.

Attachments

On the project details page you can view any project related attachments under the attachments section. You also have the option to add new attachments.

Review Project Submission

In addition to using message board and IM for communication, you have an option of accepting or rejecting the submission. The comments you provide while accepting or rejecting a project are visible below the project details page in the "Project Activity" section. If submission is rejected, the project goes back in the "In Progress" section.

If a project is rejected, a message is sent to the service provider along with your rejection comments. The service provider would resubmit the project after making the requested changes. The "Project Activity" section in the project details page displays comments related to project submission.

Project Acceptance
After the project submission from the service provider is accepted, LimeExchange automatically releases the escrow payment to the service provider. We strongly recommend that project submission be thoroughly reviewed before acceptance. Once a project has been accepted, it cannot be reverted or rejected.

Tips
Keep track of progress by requesting regular status reports
You should regularly request status reports from the service provider. Early feedback on project progress helps the overall execution of the project. In the event you feel that the progress is not up to your expectations, you should use the Message Board and IM to communicate with the service provider.

Request mid-releases to avoid surprises when the project ends
You should ask the service provider to send periodic updates on the project work in the form of prototypes, proof of concepts, screen shots etc. Review the updates and provide immediate feedback to make sure that project meets your expectations.
