Post Project

Buyers can post a project by clicking on

Posting a project is a simple process where you describe your needs and invite skillful service providers to do the job for you.

Provide a title to your project

Provide an accurate title so that service providers can quickly see that your project matches their skill set and interest.

Provide project details

Description: Giving a detailed description of your project helps service providers better understand your specific requirements. We strongly recommend that buyers provide a detailed and elaborate project description. Once the project is opened for bidding, you will not be able to change this field.

Attachments: To better explain your project requirements, you can also attach separate file(s). You can use LimeExchange project Message Board and IM features to communicate additional project details, but it is important to make this as accurate as possible in your listing.

Select project Category and sub-category

Choosing the relevant category and sub-category is important, as service providers often search for projects posted under specific categories. The category should match the skill set requirements and not the industry or business type. For example, if you are a multimedia professional and you need a multimedia website, you should post the project in "Web Development" category and not in "Audio Video & Multimedia".

When you select the project Category, the "Skills/Technology Preference" box gets automatically filled with the skills relevant to your project category.

Select preferred skill/technology

Select the skills that you are looking for in a service provider for your project. You can select a maximum of 5 skills. If any of your preferred skills are not available in the list, you can click the "Add Custom Skills" link and specify your preferred skills.

Select the type of project you want to post

Depending upon the nature of work and your payment preferences, you can choose from Hourly paid project, Fixed Price project and Pay Per Task project.

Specify your budget, project schedule and bid duration

Please note: the fields in this section will change depending upon whether you are posting a Fixed Price project, Hourly paid project or Pay Per Task project.

For 'Hourly' paid projects, the fields in this section will be as follows:

For 'Fixed Price' projects, the fields in this section will be as follows:

You can specify the approximate budget range and the tentative completion date for your project. Budget range is not binding, and service providers and buyers can place and accept bids outside the specified budget range, but indicating a range helps communicate the scale of your project and requirements.

The bidding duration for a project can run up to 60 days. If you select less than 60 days when you post a project, you can later on extend the bidding duration as needed. However, the total bidding duration including any extensions cannot exceed 60 days.

Only Logged-in users: You have the option to have your project viewed by logged-in users only, so it will not be visible to Search Engines, RSS Feeds and non logged-in users.

Preference to providers who have a verified identity: If a provider has a verified identity, you can be rest assured that you are dealing with the same person who the person claims to be. When you select this option, the bids that you receive from providers having a verified identity will be marked by a distinctive Seal of Trust. Please note that providers who do not have a verified identity will also be able to bid on your project; you are free to award your project to any provider.

Tips
Provide elaborate project requirements
While describing your project try to be as detailed as possible. Your goal is to clearly communicate your project requirements to qualified service providers. It is a good idea to include details such as the technology platform, the exact deliverables expected and your approximate budget. By starting with detailed requirements, your project is more likely to be successful in terms of faster and more accurate completion.

Communicate the timelines and deliverables up front
Ask for proposals with approximate timelines and include all deliverables in the project description. You should also define the quality metrics up front, and specify the acceptance criteria.
